Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling—
Calling for you and for me;
Patiently Jesus is waiting and watching—
Watching for you and for me!
Calling for you and for me;
Patiently Jesus is waiting and watching—
Watching for you and for me!
Come home! come home!
Ye who are weary, come home!
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
Ye who are weary, come home!
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading—
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies—
Mercies for you and for me?
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies—
Mercies for you and for me?

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing—
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, death-beds are coming—
Coming for you and for me!
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, death-beds are coming—
Coming for you and for me!

Oh, for the wonderful love He has promised—
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon—
Pardon for you and for me!
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon—
Pardon for you and for me!

As I was going through this hymn this morning, I discovered that there is a home in Jesus.
I also remember my brother who went from home, also came back from his exile of wrong friends... When he left home all I could pray was God let him come home..
Make the world uncomfortable for him and bring him back home.. thank God today he is back home.
And as I went through the song I noticed there are so many out there today who needs to come home.
Please help me beg God to bring them home...

I singing this hymn I was reminded of the Parable of the Father Receiving His Son in Luke 15: 11-32 Lord May many respond to Your calling. Thank You for Your love for us.

I woke up this morning with this hymn flooding my mind and I heard myself singing it. It was ministering directly to me of our Father in heaven's merciful plan of salvation for all of His children. I immediately searched for this old sacred favorite hymn. I have been truly blessed by the Spirit this morning. I testify that our Father and His Son Jesus Christ love us so much and want us all to come home to them! Let's not tarry

So much richness can be found in the old hymns! I haven't heard this one for years until this morning. I was watching a YouTube instrumental nature video and this is the hymn it was playing. The words instantly flooded my heart and I had to search for it! We are in such an awful mess all over the world because we have shut our Creator and Saviour out, yet He still calls. We must continue to tell of His Love to those who don't know!

A lovely inspiring song! I feel so mellowed and blessed tonight as I get to sleep knowing that Jesus has mercies for me. He pleads our case! Amen

I was reading judges 19:3a when God flash this song through my heart. The same way the levite man went to speak friendly to his unfaithful concubine that is exactly what Christ to doing to us. Despite our unfaithfulness, He kept on pleading with us to return to Him. What a good study experience this morning with this hymn. Glory be to God.

I haven't heard or thought of this song in years, but it came to me after reading today's devotional in Hope for Each Day, by Billy Graham. It's a great blessing to know there is hope for when we are weary from having strayed from the ways and will of God and at the end of our days here on earth! BLESSINGS!

My aunt passed away suddenly, I searched her Internet history and she had been listening to this on repeat for weeks. I believe she was calling for God to take her home. He listened. Now I am worried its stuck in my head and he thinks I want to come! I'm not ready just yet , just getting it out there .
