Rise up, my love

Rise up, my love, my beautiful one,
And come away, for behold, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.
Flow'rs appear on the earth,
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtle dove
Is heard in our land.
My beloved is mine,
And I am His,
He who feeds His flocks among the lilies.
'Til the day breaks,
And the shadows flee away,
Come my beloved,
Come my beloved!
Rise up, my love, my beautiful one
And come away, for behold, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.

When I heard this hymn I've realized that we really need to rise up. Despite of our condition rise up!

Lord, although we are not worthy before You, You always love us. Make us a person that is always viewing You. I Love You Lord! You are my Beloved!

This song touches my heart when I sing this song again and again. The Lord called us ''My Love, My beautiful one". We are not worthy to be His love because our sinful nature is so ugly. But He loved us so much, He even called us ''My Love" & He say to rise up, to come away, the winter is past, the rain is gone. Lord, we love You.

Such a simple and sweet song. Christ is calling us to rise up from our self introspection, self examination-let us look away from our failing self within and look to Him. Lord Jesus I turn my eyes upon You, I look fully into Your wonderful face.

The Lord is calling us away from our situation to be with Him. A lot of times I sit in self-pity when a time of "winter" comes, but all we have to do is turn to Him and His grace will be sufficient! Praise Him! He is calling us out, and we can turn to Him and come away with Him!

So sweet :)

It is so sweet to hear this song again. the Song of Songs is truely a portrait of the believers' experience in Christ.

There was a period of time this year when I was singing this song over and over again. It was after a very dark period of time. It was my lowest valley, but the Lord drew me away. He told me to rise up, He called me 'my love', I was to Him the 'beautiful one'. He told me to come away. He told me that winter is past. Really, Lord? Has winter really past? He reassured me, again and again, that winter is past, the rain is over and gone.

I couldn't believe how the Lord loved me. After hating myself so much for what's been going on, after seeing how ugly I am and how disobedient I am, the Lord told me to come away. He didn't condemn me for what was going on. He just told me to come away. My Beloved is really sweet. He shepherded my soul in a very gentle way.

I learnt not to despise my low valleys. I will not question again whether that experience was necessary. It was a dark time. I was hopelessly veiled, and seemingly I have lost the Lord's presence. But also because of that the Lord became close to me. It was in this valley that the Lord became so sweet.
