He leadeth me! O blessed thought

1
He leadeth me! O blessed thought,
O words with heav'nly comfort fraught;
Whate'er I do, where'er I be,
Still 'tis Christ's hand that leadeth me.

He leadeth me! He leadeth me!
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
  For by His hand He leadeth me.
2
Sometimes 'mid scenes of deepest gloom,
Sometimes where Eden's bowers bloom,
By waters still, o'er troubled sea,
Still 'tis His hand that leadeth me.
3
Lord, I would clasp Thy hand in mine,
Nor ever murmur or repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since it is Thou that leadest me.
4
And when my task on earth is done,
When, by Thy grace, the vict'ry's won,
E'en death's cold wave I will not flee,
Since Thou in triumph leadest me.

He does lead me. He has led me through many a storm in my life. But I needed to reach out and clasp His hand. It is a choice. I want to be a faithful follower of Him. I don’t want to ever murmur or regret my situation because it is His hand that leadeth me.

Tomorrow August 13 th would be my mother's 107th Birthday, her mother's 147th as mom was born on her mother's birthday on a Sunday... Her dad was a Methodist Lay Missionary to India and her mother a deaconess. Grandpa Paul left in the middle of his sermon to deliver his baby girl, Phyllis.. Then everyone went back to church to hear the rest of his sermon. Their favorite song was He Leadeth Me, so it is special that we sing it on her birthday and on a Sunday.

I remember them singing this in Hindustani... and wish I had the hindustni lyrics

Blessings,

Carolyn M

This song means a lot to me. It says he leads me, and he truly does. I had a stroke about five years ago, and I couldn’t have gotten along without his guidance. He has looked after me, and I really do appreciate that.
