Jesus! I am resting, resting
In the joy of what Thou art;
I am finding out the greatness
Of Thy loving heart.
Thou hast bid me gaze upon Thee,
And Thy beauty fills my soul,
For, by Thy transforming power,
Thou hast made me whole.
In the joy of what Thou art;
I am finding out the greatness
Of Thy loving heart.
Thou hast bid me gaze upon Thee,
And Thy beauty fills my soul,
For, by Thy transforming power,
Thou hast made me whole.
Jesus! I am resting, resting
In the joy of what Thou art;
I am finding out the greatness
Of Thy loving heart.
In the joy of what Thou art;
I am finding out the greatness
Of Thy loving heart.

Oh, how great Thy loving kindness,
Vaster, broader than the sea:
Oh, how marvelous Thy goodness,
Lavished all on me!
Yes, I rest in Thee, Beloved,
Know what wealth of grace is Thine,
Know Thy certainty of promise,
And have made it mine.
Vaster, broader than the sea:
Oh, how marvelous Thy goodness,
Lavished all on me!
Yes, I rest in Thee, Beloved,
Know what wealth of grace is Thine,
Know Thy certainty of promise,
And have made it mine.

Simply trusting Thee, Lord Jesus,
I behold Thee as Thou art,
And Thy love, so pure, so changeless,
Satisfies my heart,
Satisfies its deepest longings,
Meets, supplies its every need,
Compasseth me round with blessings,
Thine is love indeed.
I behold Thee as Thou art,
And Thy love, so pure, so changeless,
Satisfies my heart,
Satisfies its deepest longings,
Meets, supplies its every need,
Compasseth me round with blessings,
Thine is love indeed.

Ever lift Thy face upon me,
As I work and wait for Thee;
Resting 'neath Thy smile, Lord Jesus,
Earth's dark shadows flee.
Brightness of my Father's glory,
Sunshine of my Father's face,
Keep me ever trusting, resting,
Fill me with Thy grace.
As I work and wait for Thee;
Resting 'neath Thy smile, Lord Jesus,
Earth's dark shadows flee.
Brightness of my Father's glory,
Sunshine of my Father's face,
Keep me ever trusting, resting,
Fill me with Thy grace.

Sweet soothing hymn — both lyrics and tune. Lord Jesus, teach us to rest in Thee.

This too is my favourite hymn. To rest in the finished work of Christ, joy and peace in believing.

This hymn was running through my head this morning. I imagine the Lord is telling me to rest in Him.
What a beautiful Jesus we have!

Oh what joy to find this hymn. For three days it has been on my mind I wanted to sing it in my quiet time, it was not in my hymn book. I thought it was called I am trusting instead of I am resting. Beautiful words.Praise Father God.

Resting and waiting in and for the Lord. This hymn helps me keep that attitude of mind that brings me His peace amidst the turmoil of life.

Looked this up to learn it by heart. This was a favorite hymn of Hudson Taylor (the great missionary to inland China) as he absolutely needed to rest in Jesus in the face of insurmountable challenges. More than anything, I am encouraged by the comments here, this morning-----just proof that the Lord is calling to mind "psalms, hymns and spiritual songs" to keep us all going/trusting Him in these dark days. He lives!

Seeing Jesus in Hebrews 1 as the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being, I was reminded of this hymn and delighted in two lines of the last verse - "Brightness of my Father’s glory,
Sunshine of my Father’s face,"

This wonderful song I sing over and over to myself as life falls apart around me. It used to scare me, but now as I "rest in Jesus", He assures me He is really all I ever need. Praise His wonderful name!

What a hymn this is! It has now become my favorite hymn.

Out of nowhere this song came to mind this morning as I was opening God's Word resulting in spontaneous praise. But I couldn't remember the rest! So here you are and here I am! Grateful!
