'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, Thus saith the Lord.
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, Thus saith the Lord.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er,
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more.
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er,
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more.

O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me,
'Neath the healing, cleansing flood.
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me,
'Neath the healing, cleansing flood.

Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life, and rest, and joy, and peace.
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life, and rest, and joy, and peace.

I'm so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

This song helps me to consecrate my life and trust in God. It tells me o'er and o'er that my trust in Jesus Christ has no backup - it is a trust without spare. It may seem hard at times to trust in Jesus but it is sweet in the long run through faith and by His grace.

I sang this song in my dream and since that day, I can't stop singing the song and this song has made me to understand that it's all about trusting Jesus and also that the only thing that differentiate me as a Christian from other religion is the "GRACE" of God and I always pray for this grace to trust Him more and more.

This song is awesome...my wife and myself love it. It teaches us to rely on God. He is our Life.

Louisa Stead and her husband were relaxing with their 4-year-old daughter on a Long Island beach when they heard a desperate child's cry. A boy was drowning, and Louisa's husband tried to rescue him. In the process, however, the boy pulled Mr. Stead under the water, and both drowned as Louisa and her daughter watched.
Louisa Stead was left with no means of support except the Lord. She and her daughter experienced dire poverty. One morning, when she had neither funds nor food for the day, she opened the front door and found that someone had left food and money on her doorstep. That day she wrote this hymn. - Great Songs of Faith by Brown and Norton

It's one of my best hymns. I am sure going to fix it into my wedding programme.

As a couple, myself and my wife was waiting on God for the fruit of the womb, three years after our wedding, on getting to work one morning, the song came to mind and I searched for it, print and took it home to be our song every morning during our morning devotion. Not up to three month that we started singing the song; my wife conceived and gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. The boy is now 2 years plus, the mother teach him the same song, now he sings the song with the family. We are all happy. Glory to God and the Lord bless the soul of the song writer.

I couldn't stop singing this beautiful number since yesterday. I will hang on and keep trusting Jesus to the very end no matter what happens.
This season has been the most difficult season of my life. It's as though the heavens are sealed over me. I used to hear the voice of my Savior but now it's dead silence. Just confusion and hopelessness. I have been crying to the Lord and confessing my sins to Him. My life is practically hanging in a balance. Lord have mercy on me. I'm dying because this silence. I know HE will answer me. Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
Brothers and sisters, I would appreciate your prayers - thank you.

I prayed for inspiration what music we could bring to our congregation after the 9/11 World Trade tragedy, and this was the song God led me to. This song reminds us that our ultimate rest is found in Jesus and through the promises found in the Holy Scriptures. May all that find this beautiful hymn meditate upon and be blessed, healed, and comforted through this message. God bless you in Jesus' name!
