I have been heavily burdened lately because of hurtful words and false accusations. I love my Lord and King and have lived most of my life knowing that He has been more than faithful to me. How can those who claim to love and follow our Lord, wound others so deeply and without remorse? I didn't know it was possible to be hurt so deeply until lately. I am thankful for tears and for others who can weep with me. I am also thankful for Louisa Stead who in wrote the words to - Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus. Perhaps she too knew the pangs of suffering. The lyrics were certainly written from a heart who was in love with the Lord Jesus. As I began singing each verse, I felt the strength of God rising within me and Oh how I needed that. I know my storm will eventually pass and friend take courage because yours will too. "How I've proved Him over and over and I am persuaded that He will keep me to the very end.

Just got saved July 1, and I can't tell you how great it felt to be relieved of a huge burden, and feeling the strength that Jesus gave me, and I know most of the time it's hard because of how prone we are to sin, but when you trust in Jesus it is something completely, supernaturally different and you will never regret it!

This hymn is full of assurances of God's goodness. I remembered this hymn greatly during the years of our civil conflict as a nation. It was regularly sang by the congregation, and was indeed one of the hymns that kept the brethren strong and active despite the destruction and death around us. I was younger then, but I have grown loving this hymn.
