My life, my love, I give to Thee

E457 P209
1
My life, my love, I give to Thee,
Thou Lamb of God who died for me;
Oh, may I ever faithful be,
  My Savior and my God!

I'll live for Him who died for me,
How happy then my life shall be!
I'll live for Him who died for me,
    My Savior and my God!
2
The world and all its joys I leave;
My life, O Lord, Thou wilt receive;
Henceforth no more Thyself I'll grieve,
  My Savior and my God!
3
O Thou who died on Calvary,
To save my soul and make me free,
That I may ever live for Thee
  My Savior and my God!

This song always makes me to renew my commitment to God. It's one my most admired songs in my early Christian years. I am happy to see it written in the English language because I'm more familiar with my local language. God bless you richly.

After a beautiful time with the Lord this morning, this tune popped into my head. I hadn't thought of it for years! Literally! I was frustrated because I couldn't remember the words and googled and found the words and wept! It speaks the heart of what God and I were discussing this morning! He so obviously brought it to my remembrance! Praise Him! Thank you for making this site available! Praise God from Whom all blessing flow!

His life for mine; now my life for His, namely that His life in me may be known to others. His devotion to me that can only be answered by my devotion to Him...and even then it's not enough...I'm forever in His debt. All, then, is reduced, distilled into worship.

It's a very beautiful melody and the lyrics are very uplifting and encouraging.
