1
Lord Jesus, I long to be perfectly whole,
I want Thee forever to live in my soul;
Break down every idol, cast out every foe;
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Whiter than snow; yes, whiter than snow;
  Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.
2
Lord Jesus, let nothing unholy remain,
Apply Thine own blood and extract every stain;
To get this blest cleansing I all things forego;
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
3
Lord Jesus, look down from Thy throne in the skies,
And help me to make a complete sacrifice;
I give up myself and whatever I know;
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
4
Lord Jesus, for this I most humbly entreat;
I wait, blessed Lord, at Thy crucified feet;
By faith, for my cleansing I see Thy blood flow;
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
5
Lord Jesus, Thou seest I patiently wait;
Come now, and within me a new heart create;
To those who have sought Thee Thou never saidst, No;
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

This hymn is synonymous of my wishes and coincides with my prayer 🛐, that Jesus comes to my aid and answers me

The song popped into my head as I and my daughter needed guidance and freedom from everything that confuses. These words are blessed. Thank you for posting them. God is still a miracle worker.

I agree with the October comment from Jean. I wake up thinking of one of the old hymns and then write down what I remember of it in a journal. Then I look up the hymn and find out when it was written and by whom. What a surprise they are from the 1800’s and early 1900’s! The poetic beauty and foundational truth found in these old hymns enhance the rest of my devotional (scripture and prayer) and I start my day in praise of our King!

These old hymns are foundational to the church and personal Christian growth. I started using hymns in my daily devotional time again, rather than the popular worship choruses. They seem to give "weight" and stability to my prayers. These hymns never grow old or outdated.

Lord Jesus, the creater of Heaven and the earth and the seas and the fountains of water, Genesis 1:1 what a merciful and pitying Savior! He has never failed a case! Greater love has no man than this that a man lay down His life for His friends. John 15:13 He is a loving Father who ever gives good and perfect gifts to His children. James 1:17 Even a gift of Holy Spirit. Luke 11:13 Lets ask Him. Matthew 7:7. That we may overcome sin, and that our names may be written in Lambs book of life. Revelation 3:5. Thank you Lord Jesus that you are our father. Pls come quickly Rev. 22:12 that we may go and live with You forever and ever. Amen

Wow! Thank You Lord for Your all inclusive, life releasing, and life giving death! "You Yourself bore our sins in Your body on the tree" and "by Your bruise we were healed" by Your death we were healed! 1 Pet. 2:24; Isa. 53:5.

Now we must eat You to live to righteousness! John 6:57. Lord You are our wonderful Physician who has come to make us whole Matt. 9:12. We thank You!
