To be in the spirit is the key, the secret. In the spirit we will experience many wonderful things of Christ because we have crossed the Jordan and entered into Canaan. When we are in the spirit, we are in the rest, and we are in the Holy of Holies. Therefore, we must always renounce the natural man, the outer man. For example, many times in the Lord's work I was tempted by the enemy to quarrel with others. On those occasions I felt that my reason was right, that the case was mine, and that I had the doctrine to support me. Yet while I was trying to speak, something deep within restricted me and stopped me. In order to go along with that deep feeling, I had to drop my quarreling. Consequently, it seemed that I had nothing to say. But I can testify that every time I went along with the spirit, there was victory. If we take care of our spirit, the mighty One in our spirit will be our strength. We will be transcendent and victorious over many things. When we come to the meetings, we will come with many items of Christ to contribute, either in prayer, singing, giving a testimony, or speaking a short word. Philippians 4:13 says, "I am able to do all things in Him who empowers me." But where does Christ empower us? He empowers us in our spirit. Our mind is the stronghold and the open gate for the enemy, but our spirit is the base for the Lord to do His work. Thus, when we go along with the mind, we are defeated, even though we may be doing something good. But if we go along with the spirit, we will be victorious. We will be on a high mountain, on higher ground, and, in the words of a hymn, "on Canaan's tableland" (Hymns, #396). We will be in the heavens and will be transcendent.

This wonderful hymn reminding is us to aim for higher ground away from Satanic world. It is only in higher ground we can meet our Lord because we have removed all impediment preventing us from accessing Him. This is by putting off the old man and put on new man

My all time favorite hymn. I marched with this hymn to meet my husband at the altar in 2005. My marriage is one of the best if not the best. God bless the writer for such great lyrics.

When I heard this song today I was encouraged and reminded again by this hymn writer to look up and away beyond my present troubles and the evil in this world's system to what God is doing and has planned for His children. I am so encouraged reading the other comments from my brothers and sisters in Christ around the world that I wanted to tell them that if you are reading this and you are suffering persecution, you have not been forgotten. I am praying for you! May God comfort you and keep you strong in the faith. I pray that He keeps you safe. But more importantly, remember that he who can destroy the body can never destroy your soul, and He who protects your soul will completely restore your body one day. I too suffer in great physical pain. Please pray for me, brothers and sisters. We are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, so run the race with endurance, remembering the prize that is before you!

Thank God for visiting me again through this Song, as I Meditate on Isaiah 40:30, at my fallen and fainted state like every sinner in the World... Lord lift me up from my Sinful and fallen state in Isaiah 40:30 and let me Stand and wait for you in Isaiah 40:31, so I can renew my strength in you again, then I can mount up with wings from the higher ground... I want to live above the world, I want to scale the utmost height with the LORD JESUS... then I will run in the Lord's strength and not be weary; and I shall walk with the Lord in Spirit and not faint... In the place of prayer as our father in the Lord pastor E. A Adeboye, led us to pray for dominance over suffering, as I prayed this him popped up by the Holy Spirit and I kept on praying. I trust the Lord that the finished work of Christ will be fully manifested in my life. Amen
