Standing on the promises of Christ my King

1
Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
  Standing on the promises of God.

Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
  I'm standing on the promises of God.
2
Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
  Standing on the promises of God.
3
Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
  Standing on the promises of God.
4
Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love's strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword,
  Standing on the promises of God.
5
Standing on the promises I shall not fall,
List'ning every moment to the Spirit's call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,
  Standing on the promises of God.

This song is quite encouraging during this time in my life when everything in the natural realm and our economy belies God's Word seemingly-everything has been going contrary for me, but this precious song encourages me to continue standing on God's Word because the Word of God is alive and it can not fail me and I shall prevail-not go down in defeat.

Thank you for this wonderful song. It reminds us of God's faithfulness in our missions here in Cambodia for almost 5 years now. Glory to God for calling us into his wonderful service! We can always stand in the unfailing promises of God in our lives! Thank you very much for your good work in God!

Thanks for putting this up.

It reminds us of the unchangeableness of our good God and His love for us. I also like the part about the Spirit's Sword. We need to be constituted with the Word to such an extent that we can stand against the enemy by God's word.

Thank God for the writers of these hymns of old. They speak volumes of our Daddy's goodness, I grew up with these songs when i lived in the flesh and did not mean much to me till I made Christ my savior and thes words have taken up a new meaning to me.

I remember a lot of the classics that one does not hear that often these days.

They were the ones I grew up with. They sing my praises as I once did. The new ones are just as important for future generations as the classics are for mine.

This, by far, was one of my favorites. We stood on the promises of an everlasting God and His Son's words as found in the New Testament.
