Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
2
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
3
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

As a postgraduate student in early 90's, I came in contact with the Spirit of this song. Until today, it is a lifting message to my soul and a pronouncement of my covenant expectation in the Lord here and hereafter...Praising my Saviour, all the day long.

Is a spirit lifting hymn giving us the hope of an eternal end. It's the more touching considering that Fanny Crosby wrote it under the circumstances she was.

My pastor came to see me in the hospital and held my hand while singing this hymn and I have been singing it when I feel sad, alone or confused! What a blessing! What a beautiful reminder of His love for us! I find myself humming the song whenever I feel sad. Thank You! To our Lord! Who never leaves or forsakes us. God bless you.
