Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
2
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
3
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Just heard this in an ad for an Allen Jackson CD. My thoughts went immediately to my mother who died last year at 93. A few years before she was in a rehabilitation center after a surgery. Back then, a family member could stay overnight and one weekend we were in the cafeteria with a local Baptist choir group, who came to sing hymns with the patients. In those days, mom who was in a gentle decline from dementia, could still jump in on a tune. We sang Blessed Assurance. I would become her caregiver. I ask for forgiveness for anything that I did not do as well as I could have and I am so so grateful to have had that night at facility singing hymn!

This morning as I was lying in bed before getting up, the first couple of lines from the first verse were playing in my mind. I don't recall the last time I heard this song, but I'm sure it's been a while. I know I learned it at the southern Baptist church in Texas that I grew up in. Definitely believing God brought that back to recollection this morning to draw me in. I am blessed. Grateful for the lyrics being on this site and the comments from people around the world.

As a finish praying and going though my Bible in my phone. Reading the book of palms from yesterday's teachings in our convention week 13-17/12/23. The Holy Spirit lay this song in my heart and I Google search and am singing it. Praise God. Thank you Jesus

Today during church service my prophet, prophet samuel kakande has preached and in his preaching he told us each one of us has a story to tell. We listened to this hymn during the service and l was feeling so down but after listening to this hym l felt in me that Some thing new has been born in my life, l really have a story to tell.
I woke up with this song in my spirit. I haven’t heard it since elementary school. Wild that it seems that there are a lot of us very recently experiencing this!!!

I echo what Paulette had to say. I woke up for my morning meditations and this song was the first thing on my mind this morning. Angels descending bring from above echoes of Mercy whispers of love. To think that God, the Son, would eternally take on flesh and blood to leave his glory then come to be my Emmanuel. Praise His Holy name!

I love this hymn! It was in my spirit this morning, so I had to sit down and sing it. By faith, I declare that this is my story! Praising my Savior all the day long, for all He has accomplished in putting His life on the cross, and dying for me. He is worthy of my praises and thanks! Praise Him!!!
