1
God our Father, we adore Thee,
  For the sake of righteousness;
Thou in Christ hast justified us,
  Who our conscience can depress?
Thou art righteous, and art faithful,
  On Thy righteousness we stand;
No unrighteousness is in Thee,
  None can turn Thy righteous hand.
2
Thou hast laid our sins on Jesus,
  By Thy justice He was killed;
All Thy holy law's requirements
  For Thy justice He fulfilled.
Recompense from Him receiving,
  Thou art fully satisfied;
How couldst Thou, O God most righteous,
  Claim it once more from our side?
3
Father God, Thou hast accepted
  Jesus as our Substitute;
Judged the Just One for the unjust,
  Couldst Thou change Thy attitude?
As a proof of perfect justice,
  At Thine own right hand He sits;
He, as Thy full satisfaction,
  Righteously Thy need befits.
4
Father, through the blood of Jesus
  We possess Thy righteousness;
By Thy righteousness protected,
  None can shake our stedfastness.
Righteousness of Thine Thou mad'st us,
  None can ever us condemn;
We'll forever testify this
  In the new Jerusalem.

A profound hymn celebrating the righteousness of our Father God, beautifully expressing gratitude for the justification found in Christ. The verses resonate with the assurance of divine justice and the unshakable righteousness bestowed upon believers through the sacrifice of Jesus.

Thank the Lord for the minister of the age, the worshipping of Our Father God by Hymn 20 is so substantial and stirringly moving and everlasting. Singing it at the Lord’s Table sends us ascending with the Lord as in John 20:17, “…go to My brothers and say to them, I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God. ”

Oh, praise the Lord for this soul-lifting and inspiring song! Lord, Thou will not claim our sins from us because Your Son Jesus have met all Your Requirements!

The music was written by France Joseph Haydn born March 31, 1732, Rohrau, Austria. He died May 31, in 1809, Vienna, Austria and was originally buried in the Hundstrum churchyard, Vienna, Austria. Later, they moved his body to a private mausoleum in the Bergkriche Eisenstadt, Austria.

Haydn was an Austrian composer of the Classical Period. He was instrumental in the development of chamber music such as the string quartet and piano trio. His contributions to musical form have let him to be called

“Father of the Symphony” and “Father of the String Quartet.” Franz spend much of his career as a court musician for a wealthy family in their castle. Until the latter part of his life, this isolated him from other composers and trends in music so that he was, as he put it, forced to become original. Yet his music circulated widely, and for much of his career he was the most celebrated composer in Europe. He was a friend and mentor of Mozart, a tutor of Beethoven, and the older brother of composer Michael Haydn.

Romans 1:17 - For the righteousness of God is revealed in it out of faith to faith, as it is written, "But the righteous shall have life and live by faith."

Romans 1:17 ft 1

Here God’s righteousness is the power of God’s salvation. God’s righteousness, which is solid and steadfast, is the foundation of His throne (Psa. 89:14) and the base on which His kingdom is built (Rom. 14:17). Legally, both love and grace can fluctuate, but righteousness cannot.

LS of Romans Msg 57:

"God, I remind You of Your righteousness. Christ has died for my sins, and He is now at Your right hand as proof that You have received His payment of all my debts. According to Your righteousness, You have no choice except to save me... O Father God, I appreciate Your love and Your grace. But now I stand before You not so much in love or in grace, but in Your righteousness. Now, no matter what my condition is, You must forgive me. ”

------

The Father has sent His Son to fulfill His righteous requirements for us! Now He is bound by His righteousness to forgive us through His Son. Thank you Father for Your righteousness!

God our Father, we adore Thee! Thou in Christ hast justified us!

Romans 3:24 - "Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus"

In the footnote of «justified» it says: Justification is God’s action whereby He approves people according to His standard of righteousness. God can do this on the basis of the redemption of Christ.

1 Corinthians 6:11 "…you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God."

And in the footnote of «washed», «justified» here says: […] All these items of God’s salvation were accomplished in us in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (i. e. , in the person of the Lord, in an organic union with the Lord through faith) and in the Spirit of God (i. e. , in the power and realization of the Holy Spirit). First, we were washed from the sinful things; second, we were sanctified, separated unto God, transformed by God; and third, we were justified, accepted, by God.

Who our conscience can depress?

Romans 8:1 - "There is now then no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus."

In Ephesians 6, concerning putting on the whole armor of God, we find in verse 14 that we must "…put on the breastplate of righteousness"

According to the footnote «put» [... ] regardless of how clear we feel our conscience is, it needs to be covered with the breastplate of righteousness. To be righteous is to be right with both God and man. If we are just a little wrong with either God or man, Satan will accuse us, and there will be holes in our conscience through which all our faith and boldness will leak out. Hence, we need the covering of righteousness to protect us from the enemy’s accusation. Such righteousness is Christ (1 Cor. 1:30).

We adore Thee Father for all Your divine provisions! Thank You, Abba Father, for Christ, our righteousness!

The proof of God's justification is the resurrected Christ (4:22-25). I like the hymn which says,

Father God, Thou hast accepted

Jesus as our Substitute;

Judged the Just One for the unjust,

Couldst Thou change Thy attitude?

As a proof of perfect justice,

At Thine own right hand He sits;

He, as Thy full satisfaction,

Righteously Thy need befits.

Thus, the resurrected Christ who sits at the right hand of God is the evidence that we have been justified. The redeeming death of Christ as the ground for God to justify us has been fully accepted by God, and Christ has been resurrected from the dead as a proof of this. This is the proof of the justification God has given us.

The death of Christ has fully fulfilled and satisfied God's righteous requirements, so that we are justified by God through His death (3:24). His resurrection is a proof that God is satisfied with His death for us and that we are justified by God because of His death and in Him, the resurrected One, we are accepted before God. Not only so, but, as the resurrected One, He is also in us to live for us a life that can be justified by God and is always acceptable to God. Therefore, Romans 4:25 says that He was raised because of our justification.

2) "...concerning righteousness, because I [Christ] go to the Father" (John 16:10).

Christ's ascension to the Father in heaven after He was resurrected is also a proof of our justification, even as the third stanza of Hymns, #20 says:

Father God, Thou hast accepted

Jesus as our Substitute;

Judged the Just One for the unjust,

Couldst Thou change Thy attitude?

As a proof of perfect justice,

At Thine own right hand He sits;

He, as Thy full satisfaction,

Righteously Thy need befits.

Christ's resurrection, ascension, and being seated at the right hand of God are a proof of our justification by God, confirming that God has justified us because of Christ's death, which satisfied God's righteous requirements.
