Immortal, invisible, God only wise

1
Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
2
Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.
3
To all life Thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish, but nought changeth Thee.
4
Great Father of Glory, pure Father of Light
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
All laud we would render, O help us to see:
'Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee.
5
Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.

Today's song composers are not in tune with God (they have little or no intimacy with God), and thus their songs expire. But songs like these that are made out of mutual relationship with God... where simple words end up making complex meanings; how can this song expire? I can't wait to be in Heaven!

This is a song that gears me up when I'm in a difficult situation. It's a song that every Christian must sing when they woke up early in the morning or before going to bed. I LOVE YOU JESUS.

In my deepest thought and hopelessness; this hymn strengthens me knowing that God who my eyes can't see, the ancient of days is with me. My soul be at peace.

The crystal truth remains that GOD is the only wise being. This hymn strengthens faith and rekindles hope. If you listen to its lyrics or sing it convincingly, it gives joy!

Planning a service for old people with dementia and this hymn came to mind. As I heard it played and read the words again I remembered singing it standing with my family as a small child. It is still fresh and stirring and true. We will be singing it in the Care Home on Sunday and some old people who do not usually even speak will look up and begin to join in. Writing this in tears... Thanks be to God for this great hymn.

Lovely! But could you delete the comma after 'high soaring above', please? the writer is saying: 'Thy justice [is] like mountains high soaring above the clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.'

When I hear a Welsh melody....there is a deep stirring in my soul and kinship has somehow been linked again.
