We have seen Christ is reality

We have seen Christ is reality:
But it's not sufficient just to see:
He in our experience must be
  Everything to us.
We in prayer behold Him face to face,
In the Word and meetings know His grace;
But in daily life, in every place,
  What is He to us?
Hallelujah! By His light we see
Oh, how real, how full our Lord will be
If we'll only turn to Him at every time,
    in every day,
Every thing, in every way and—
  Be specific for reality!
  And be done with generality!
If we'll just apply Him, we will see
    He's everything to us.
2
Life is full of opportunities
Ordered by our Father's hand: we see
Everything's the best that it could be,
  So let's gain Christ!
Christ our content and reality
To shine out from us unceasingly:
He must have a way in you and me,
  He must have a way.
  Hallelujah! In the body we
Bear the death of Christ continually:
Thus His life comes forth for all to see as
The outer man is broken down,
The inner man is shining so that—
In these earthen vessels men can see
  There's the treasure of reality!
Thus the gospel's glorious light will be
    Shining out from us.

Not just doctrines and theology,
But the content of reality:
Christ as everything in you and me,
  He's everything to us!

This is a hymn about experience. I am impressed by the experience of turning to the Lord. This has been made real to me over the years. When we turn the Lord can shine His light on us. This is not always pleasant and we do not want to see who we are before God. On the positive side we see Jesus and who He is which draws us more to Him. This makes us able to go through the breaking necessary so He can shine through us. This is a suffering, but if we want to really exhibit Christ the outer man must be broken so that Christ can shine through as the gospel. Are we willing to go through things to gain Christ so that He can gain others?

I have a very old cassette tape for my own. I have recorded a beautiful hymn in about 48 Years ago. I didn't know the name of this Hymn song till now. Because the condition of recording was very bad. I could not listen it's lyric, word at all.

And I recorded FEN broadcasting from a Sunday Church service for American military base of Yokohama at that time. The Most important memories of that era for me was the War in Vietnam. Many American soldiers wounded attended that service of course.

Now I know this song is in my side. Very emotional experience.

Thank you for all of brother and sister who editing this beautiful song.

A brother who spoke at my dad's memorial service mentioned verse 2, responding, "Eventually, our inward feelings and our prayers will correspond with the will of God as we grow in grace and in the full knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ... Jesus said, "Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Do we treasure the things which are above? We must lay hold of them to mature in our Christian life here on earth. It is something every Christian must sooner or later face. We are bought with a price, we are not our own. We are His servants and accountable to Him alone.

So let's gain Christ!

I sang this song in my youth over 50 years ago. It is becoming more real to me now. God's goal is for us to gain His Son. How wonderful!

Hallelujah! By His light we see

Oh, how real, how full our Lord will be

If we’ll only turn to Him at every time,

in every day,

Every thing, in every way and—

Be specific for reality!

Reality is God realized, apprehended. (LS of John)

Lord, lead us to experience you by seeing you! Lord bring us past just seeing. We want to be brought on to maturity in you.

Yes, we have seen so much. Now we ask You Father, to do whatever You want to and have to, in us today, to make this our reality. Order the opportunities for us to experience and enjoy You as everything to us.
