Glory be to Jesus

E115 T115
1
Glory be to Jesus,
  Who in bitter pains
Poured for me the life-blood
  From His sacred veins.
2
Grace and life eternal
  In that Blood I find;
Blest be His compassion,
  Infinitely kind.
3
Blest through endless ages
  Be the precious stream,
Which from endless torments
  Did the world redeem.
4
Abel's blood for vengeance
  Pleaded to the skies;
But the blood of Jesus
  For our pardon cries.
5
It the conscience sprinkles,
  Frees our guilty hearts;
Satan in confusion
  Terror-struck departs.
6
Oft as earth exulting
  Wafts its praise on high,
Angel-hosts rejoicing
  Make their glad reply.
7
Lift ye then your voices;
  Swell the mighty flood;
Louder still and louder
  Praise the precious blood.

Lovely hymn to sing at the Lord's table. Praising Him for His redemption

This one of my dad's favorite Catholic hymn's. His name is Sir Bertrand Igbokwe and he is 104yrs and has an awesome voice even in his old age. He remembered a few lines and I googled the enter hymn and was too happy to get all the lyrics plus the tune.

Dad sang it so many times. Thank you so much and God bless you all Amen.

One of my grandfather's favorites. My mother just told me and sang what she could remember to me. My grandfather loved to sing the hymns. We miss him but have these fond memories. Thank God.

Best song ever!!
