I was sinking deep in sin, Far from the peaceful shore, Very deeply stained within, Sinking to rise no more; But the Master of the sea Heard my despairing cry, From the waters lifted me, Now safe am I. |
Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me. Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me. |

All my heart to Him I give, Ever to Him I'll cling, In His blessed presence live, Ever His praises sing. Love so mighty and so true Merits my soul's best songs; Faithful, loving service, too, To Him belongs. |

Souls in danger, look above, Jesus completely saves; He will lift you by His love Out of the angry waves. He's the Master of the sea, Billows His will obey; He your Savior wants to be— Be saved today. |

This is one of my favourite hymns seeing where God took me from to make me His very own.

Our Catholic Cathedral in Greenville SC did a wonderful job on this song sunday. Reminding us of our saviour Jesus Christ and how He loves us.

During my early years we sung this song all the time in Church and during Evangelistic meetings. During our Sabbath worship it came to mind and we had to sing it.
Thank You God for Your everlasting love for us.

My Mom suffered a massive stroke 3 years ago that paralyzed her and took away her speech. The hardest thing ever as she wants to talk but can't.
Interesting thing with Aphasia.... people can still sing!! As we walk the halls in the nursing home she sings this song. It lifts her spirits and mine so thank You Jesus!! You are faithful.
She has always sang around the house when we were growing up to lift her spirits during difficult times. This is now another difficult time but she is blessing others as she always does.. Her JOY comes from the Lord.

My late dad used to sing this song every morning when clearning our compound and one day I asked him where he learned the song from, and he told me that they use to sing it during second world war when they captured french somali land and in Burma. It’s still fresh in my memory and he is the only person who could sing it in church without a hymn book. Praise God for that.

My mother would sing this as she rocked us and all her grand and great grandchildren. She changed the words but the tune was in our heads and I rocked my kids to this, too. Now she is passed and I hum it as I prepare for her funeral. Do glad I found the true words.

I was praying for deliverance from my difficult situations. This song was inspired to me. I sang it that morning of June 2017, and I keep singing it ever since. The love of Jesus Christ is clearing my path.
