There is a fountain filled with blood

English1006

There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Immanuel's veins;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains:
Lose all their guilty stains,
Lose all their guilty stains;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day;
And there may I, though vile as he,
Wash all my sins away:
Wash all my sins away,
Wash all my sins away;
And there may I, though vile as he,
Wash all my sins away.

Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its power,
Till all the ransomed ones of God
Be saved, to sin no more:
Be saved, to sin no more,
Be saved, to sin no more;
Till all the ransomed ones of God,
Be saved to sin no more.

E'er since by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die:
And shall be till I die,
And shall be till I die;
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die.

When this poor lisping, stammering tongue
Lies silent in the grave,
Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I'll sing Thy power to save:
I'll sing Thy power to save,
I'll sing Thy power to save;
Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I'll sing Thy power to save.

Today I was thinking about salvation- and my sinful nature. Baptized at age 12 and struggling with the belief that I had truly been saved. Then I heard the words “lose all their guilty stains” and my roommate quoted Romans 10:9 to me in Spanish. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!

An all time favourite hymn that reminds me of the redeeming power of the blood of Jesus Christ. Such a blessing.

The words not only bring life to the soul but dig up a memory of who we were before he called us into his marvelous light and how our exodus with the Lord of our deliverance has not only made us better but qualified us to be part of his commonwealth together with the saints.

I love it

I grew up in the Church singing all the wonderful, heart-stirring hymns ( or so I thought ). If we did sing this hymn, it wasn't etched in my memory like the others. A year ago, or so, I was going through an old hymnal and came across this magnificent song. It is now my favorite hymn, and "Redeeming love has been my theme, And shall be till I die".

I was wakened this morning with the word's ... " There is a Fountain filled with blood that flows from Emanuel’s veins....

How wonderful is the power of His Blood that purchased believing mankind from the marketplace of sin forever , no act of mankind can earn us this privilege other than " to believe " to trust in , rely on and be confident in Our Saviour and His Precious Blood ..... Hallelujah what a Saviour.
