In God's green pastures feeding by His cool waters lie;
Soft in the evening walk my Lord and I,
All the sheep of His pasture
Fare so wondrously fine; His sheep am I.
Soft in the evening walk my Lord and I,
All the sheep of His pasture
Fare so wondrously fine; His sheep am I.

Through the streets of the city in the darkness of the night,
Far from the fold, He heard my lonely cry.
Now I sit at His table in the palace of light;
His sheep am I.
Far from the fold, He heard my lonely cry.
Now I sit at His table in the palace of light;
His sheep am I.

I don't remember when I heard this song the first time. I am a missionary in Tonga, pastoring an international church, and it just came to me, this morning. I'll teach it to our church!

This was my mother's lullaby when I was little and now that I'm a mother, I sing it to my daughter. I never knew there was a second verse!! So very happy to have found this.

I'm so glad to have found this lovely hymn. I remember the lyrics from my childhood, and wanted to bring it to my Sunday School class where we are studying Genesis.
Genesis 3:8 "And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day.... "Of course this song is about our relationship after we have confessed our sins and saved by His Grace. To me it's a picture of what heaven will be like. Thank you.

Brings back sweet memories of giving my heart to Jesus in high school Young Life gathering, 1958. This was one of my favorites as I sang, thankful for discovering how much my Lord loves me.

This song my mother sang to all 5 of us as a lullaby. Out walking just this morning in the rain soaked grass with my little one and it came back.

What a pleasure to hear this song. I learn this song at Bethel Bible Camp in 1969. I was singing it on the way home last night.

I learned this song when I was very young (around 10 years ago).

It's such a melodic song with the very good meaning!
