This is the day, this is the day.
That the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice,
And be glad in it, and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day
That the Lord has made.
That the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice,
And be glad in it, and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day
That the Lord has made.

We are the sons, we are the sons,
Of the living God, of the living God.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice,
And be glad in Him, and be glad in Him.
We are the sons of the living God.
We will rejoice and be glad in Him.
We are the sons, we are the sons
Of the living God.
Of the living God, of the living God.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice,
And be glad in Him, and be glad in Him.
We are the sons of the living God.
We will rejoice and be glad in Him.
We are the sons, we are the sons
Of the living God.

What an appropriate hymn to sing during the Feast of Tabernacles, when God commands His people to rejoice.

This is regarding part of a Leigh Powell's lovely observations on the song "This Is the Day"; Sunday, the day Christians set aside for corporate worship...... In the Genesis true account of creation, the heavens and the earth were created in 6 days, and on the seventh, the Lord rested." May I be so humble as to observe that there are also Christians who experience corporate worship on Saturday, the seventh weekly day, for the very reason Leigh put forth for Sunday observance? And thank you, Leigh for reminding us all that God is still creating, yes, daily, in each of our hearts as we invite His presence through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

When my son was a young cub scout, he was invited by a friend to attend church for Scout Sunday. I joined him, and this was one of the hymns that was sung. I got embroidered into my soul, and occasionally returns to my thoughts. I believe it returns to me like it did this morning, when God thinks I need that reminder. With COVID-19 affecting so many, it is a good time to remember God’s blessings to us, and to be conscientious to all in these unusual times. Be good to each other...

I woke up last Friday absolutely dreading the day. My heart was hard toward God for giving me a difficult day ahead. Tough meetings, sermon prep, errands, there wasn't enough time and emotions to go around. Anxiety was big.
Then my wife and I sang this song and I was reminded, admonished to rejoice. Our Father in heaven has never given a bad gift and if today seems like a bad gift it's only because I don't know what I need.
"This is the day that the LORD has made (resolve) I will rejoice and be glad in it!"
