I am a occupant in a home for elders. I am 89 years old, in good health, and believe that with God's blessing with modern learning in medicine, I may live to be much older.
This song which I have probably not heard for 70 or so years came drifting across my mind this morning bright and early. I will probably be singing it all day(both oot loud and to myself) and for the rest of my life and for eternity,

Hallelujah! Jesus Christ is the Sun of righteousness. When we let him into our hearts (Rev. 3:20), He shines His light upon us, and we are not put to shame. I love this hymn, even in the night hour.
I remember my late parents with all this kind of hymn music. God is so good and I felt so Blessed to know God.

I remember singing this in my childhood church. Fortunately, the church we attend now in 2021 still uses the hymn book! I will be playing this song for an offertory Sunday evening. I enjoy thinking through the words as I play it. I enjoyed reading all your comments here about this great song. I wish churches would keep these great old hymns alive!! Generally, I love singing hymns right from childhood. This day I went to bed with a heavy heart due to certain happenings. I woke about mid-night with the lyrics, "There is sunshine in my soul today...". And I thought, sunshine at this time? Then I heard, "When Jesus shows His smiling face..." Thank you Lord for showing your smiling face, which melted my heavy heart. I Love you Lord.
