Rejoice, the Lord is King

E146 S73
1
Rejoice, the Lord is King,
  Your Lord and King adore;
Mortals, give thanks and sing
  And triumph evermore:

Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
  Rejoice, again I say, rejoice.
2
His kingdom cannot fail;
  He rules o’er earth and heav’n;
The keys of death and hell
  Are to our Jesus giv’n:
3
Jesus, the Savior reigns,
  The God of truth and love:
When He had purged our stains
  He took His seat above:
4
He sits at God’s right hand
  Till all His foes submit,
And bow to His command,
  And fall beneath His feet:

Romans 10:10 shows us 2 parts necessary to experience the riches of Christ unto salvation: our heart and our mouth. So let us lift up our voice and lift up our heart to be daily saved

I awakened thinking of this hymn---hearing it in my mind. My body felt sore and frail, but the morning scripture said that because Jesus was tempted in all ways that we are, He is able to help us/succor us . When I went to this hymn online, I was greatly encouraged and cheered to read comments made by sisters and brothers in the Lord who live in various countries. It has boosted my spirit greatly to know that throughout the world there are others rejoicing with me because our dear Lord is King. Indeed, the Lord is KIng! Praise and honor be to Him.

Just as my brother Isaac said in an earlier post, feeling anxious and in despair, we believers can only find relief in our Lord. This is Thanksgiving here in the states but I was not feeling to thankful, letting the living in the dark world get me down. But a sister sent me this hymn this morning and as I sang and meditated on the sweet words my heart was lifted! Thank You Lord Jesus!

I was feeling so down this morning. I was everything the Bible asked us not to be, worried, anxious and in despair. But I scanned through the scriptures to search for comfort. My spirit moved to Phil 4:6 but just I opened there, I chanced on the v4 and the hymn rang in my spirit so I decided to check the lyrics online again. Jesus is still Lord. Like Peter said, to whom shall we go?

It's simply a very beautiful song, I love it.

I was feeling rather anxious about something as I knelt and prayed this morning. And this song started singing in my head. I knew the chorus but not the whole lyrics. I searched through the internet to find the full song and the lyrics really comforted me. God truly speaks when we turn to Him. Thank you Jesus

I too was awakened early this morning to an unseen person singing the final line in the refrain:

Rejoice! Again I say, Rejoice!

Going through the lyrics, it is still the chorus that tugs at me.

Often, it is so hard to live in God's will. Maybe, just maybe, the singing voice of the dawn is my angel come to tell me that I've managed to obey God a little more🙂

A rousing hymn! Like others I woke with the text singing in my head, and couldn’t wait to find it on internet. Great tune and great text - great combination!

Rejoice again, I say rejoice. This is the song in my heart and on my lips as I woke up this morning for my devotion. I just had to Google it for the words. Beautiful wonderful song. It reminds me to rejoice as the Bible commands in 1 Thessalonians 5." Rejoice in the Lord always"

June 8/20 I also was woken up tonight with, "His Kingdom cannot fail ... lift up your heart, lift up your voice, again, I say rejoice".

So here I've googled the lyrics also. :)

What struck me is that this, in the Hebrew calendar, is the year of the voice - of the decree. We must awaken, rise up, & speak in faith, what He says. Take hold, apprehend our authority, and wield our Sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. Blessings!
